New Year’s Eve Silent Auction Fundraiser a Smashing Success

SAN FRANCISCO, C.A., December 31, 2007 -- SLVP rang in the New Year with a fundraiser held at Board Member, Maureen McNamara’s house.  The turnout was better than expected and the party was flowing outside by eleven o’clock.  Many generous sponsors helped us make this a zero cost event, allowing all the proceeds to go directly to SLVP’s current project, the Mamaka Primary School. did a delightful job with the organic and fresh catering; we owe them such a debt of gratitude.  Special thanks also to Amy Craig and Matt Bostick who donated a case of bubbly for the midnight toast.  We also would like to thank everyone who donated the many fantastic items that were up for grabs at the silent auction.  Rodney Hale donated a $400 bottle of wine that almost started a bidding war, and John McNamara parted with an X-Box and a weekend at his Tahoe ski cabin.  Other hot-ticket items included hand-made jewelry, gift certificates, gift baskets and packages that were procured by Carolyn Bucher.  Jennifer Myron offered an array of her gourmet cupcakes, and Meg and Brian Cabezud brought several fine bottles from their wine cellar.  When the auction closed we’d made a total of $2,208!  It was a Happy New Year’s indeed.  Thank you to everyone who bid and everyone who helped us put on the event, you are invaluable to SLVP.
