U.S. 501(c)(3) Non-profit Registered

Sierra Leone Village Partnerships Inc., was incorporated in the State of Florida in 2007 and is currently registered with the IRS as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization in the State of Minnesota.  Because we are a registered non-profit, donations and other gifts to SLVP are tax deductible.

Financial Policies

-SLVP has no paid staff.  Board members, project coordinators and other volunteers donate their time.

-We spend next to nothing on marketing; virtually all of our promotion efforts are free, sponsored or self-funded.

-All of our travel expenses, including site-visits to Sierra Leone are self-funded, which allows us to keep our administrative and overhead costs very low.

-This allows us to funnel at least 97 cents of every dollar donated directly to our projects.

We take your privacy seriously and will never sell, rent, loan, give or share your personal information (with special regard given to the safety and security of your financial information) with anyone else.

Organizational Affiliations

SLVP works in cooperation with other U.S. and Sierra Leonean non-profits.  We work to align with the Poverty Reduction Strategy and overall goals of Sierra Leonean Government.  When asked, we assist communities with reaching out to the U.S. Embassy in Sierra Leone for alternative and additional sources of funding.  We have a cooperative and friendly relationship with the Peace Corps but we are not directly affiliated with the Peace Corps, any religious organization or political party.  We do not necessarily support the opinions of third party Web sites that we link to (for example, op-ed columns in newspapers, etc.).
